About Katie

I am a “crossover” soprano, finding equal homes in musical theater and classical song repertoire. A few credits include Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow), Miss Dorothy (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Elle (La Voix Humaine), and The Beggar Woman (Sweeney Todd).

I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s  degrees in Vocal Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University, Long Beach, and pursued post-graduate studies in Vocal Performance & Pedagogy at James Madison University.

I believe in teaching the whole student – heart, mind, and voice. As technique is mastered, I challenge my students to pour their hearts and souls into their music, to develop their own styles, and put forth emotionally authentic performances that leave a lasting impression on all who hear them.
